See our Government at work with an inside view of the most important Federal Buildings in Washington DC. The United States Capitol, where the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States conducts our nation's business, is located in Washington, D.C., at the east side of the National Mall on Capitol Hill. The US Capitol is the heart by which the NE, NW, SE and SW quadrants of the District of Columbia are divided except it is geographically not the center. The neoclassical style building features are: the Statue of Freedom on top of the dome, a large round hall beneath the dome and two wings. The north wing houses the Senate and the south wing, the House of Representatives.
This tour is the morning portion of Tour 4 and covers the three branches of the Government – Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. Then visit the Smithsonian Museum of American History where you will see the restored Star Spangled Banner, the First Ladies Gowns and Exhibit, and even Dorothy's ruby slippers from the "Wizard of Oz"! Please notify your driver if you wish to end your tour at the museum instead of returning to the bus. Available Daily.
